Course Objective:
- Describe proper use and handling of surgical instruments.
- Demonstrate different skin suturing techniques.
- Demonstrate knot tying techniques, vessel ligation and transfixation.
- Demonstrate abdominal wall closure.
- Demonstrate abscess incision and drainage and lipoma excision.
- Demonstrate the basic techniques of small bowel anastomoses.
- Demonstrate chest tube insertion and management.
- Demonstrate an understanding of electrocautery.
- Learn the principles of laparoscopy , and demonstrate proper handling of laparoscopic instruments including hands-on training.
